Job Description
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Creates and documents test plans and test cases for newly developed or existing hardware and solutions products
- Develops test tools and automation for in use testing
- During test execution, directs a test team and reports results to development engineers and leadership.
- Makes test plans that include resource requirements, schedule assumptions, and scope based on inputs from the Development and Marketing
- Provides the Engineering Manager with a High-Level Test Strategy and comprehensive test plan for new hardware and solutions products
- Monitors the execution and reports the results of product validation on new hardware and solutions products
- Interfaces with external validation partners to develop comprehensive test plans and tests coverage across multiple test organizations
- Manages and reports on test deliverables and test execution from validation partners

Requirements

- Must be local to Austin/Round Rock, TX. Prescreening Questions and Answers Must be Included on Resume or candidate will be declined.
- What test execution experience do you have and in what particular engineering area(s)? * Do you have any storage subsystem background? If so, elaborate.
- Do you have any experience with Broadcom or PMC-Sierra based RAID controllers? If so, elaborate.
- Do you have any experience with debugging Operating System problems? If so, elaborate.
- What level of experience do you have with Microsoft Server OSes, VMWare ESXi OSes, and/or Linux OSes?
Must Haves:
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Server OSes, VMWare ESXi, Red Hat, SuSE, and Ubuntu Linux operating systems
- Good experience with server storage technology, including PCIe, SAS, and RAID is preferred.
- Strong understanding of hardware and software interactions and be able to apply this understanding to resolve problems.
- Detail-oriented with attention to product quality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Able to manage multiple programs and/or areas simultaneously.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analysis skills.
- Ability in organizing and managing multiple projects, set priorities and work independently under aggressive timelines.
- Able to easily achieve mastery of new tools, languages, and operating systems.
- Ability to work under date-driven schedules.
- Strong knowledge of reading and understanding technical data sheets and specifications.
- Be able to physically able to lift servers to assist in racking server and storage equipment.

Responsibilities
- Consulting Test Engineers on current technology test methods and tools
- Mentors new engineers in other test groups
- Conducts technical training for the test group's test engineers and technicians in within the test group
- Collaborate with test groups to establish end-to-end test planning and execution
- Collaborate across test groups to reduce test redundancy and close gaps in test coverage Works with internal teams and test partners to define comprehensive end-to-end test coverage
- Manages test partners throughout all phases of test projects
- Develops and executes test automation scripts
